Chimps of Western Tanzania

Days 1 to 4. Mahale National Park
Travel overland to Mahale National Park and Greystoke Camp, which has to be one of the most beautiful and dramatic locations of any camp in East Africa, sitting on a white sand beach at the base of the Mahale Mountains overlooking the turquoise waters of Lake Tanganyika. Mahale National Park is a mountainous region lush with semi-tropical forest, providing a unique habitat for nine species of primate alone, including 1,000 Chimpanzees, as well as many other mammals. Spend your days here Chimp-tracking, walking and snorkelling.

Days 5 to 7. Kitavi
Fly on to Kitavi for a 3-night stay at Chada Camp which accommodates twelve guests in large walk-in tents. Kitavi probably has a greater concentration of wildlife than any other park in Tanzania with Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Lion, Spotted Hyena and Leopard, as well as Sable, and Roan Antelope all possible sightings. Wildlife-viewing is by 4- wheel drive and on foot.
